Irokansi enjoys Texas A&M visit
Pflugerville (TX) Hendrickson defensive end Victor Irokansi was on hand in College Station this weekend for the Texas A&M junior day. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound defender got a chance got a chance to become familiar with the campus and coaching staff, and could have a scholarship offer extended his way in the near future. "The junior day went really well. I got to see the campus and sit down and talk with the coaches for a while about everything," said Irokansi. The three-star prospect didn't walk away with a scholarship offer this weekend, but he believes that one could be coming his way in the near future. "I didn't get an offer yet but I think I should get one soon. The coaches just need to take a look at my transcript and watch my new highlight tape." The Aggies coaching staff are impressed with Irokansi's ability as a player and are recruiting him to play the "joker" position at the next level. "The coaches like how I rush the passer and they think that I'm really explosive. They want me to play the joker position (hybrid linebacker/defensive end) like Von Miller did." Irokansi has also been receiving serious interest from Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He has been invited to several other junior days and is still unsure which one he will be attending this upcoming weekend. "I want to go to Texas Tech or Oklahoma State this weekend but it's going to be hard because of distance. If I can't go to either one of those then I will try and go to Houston." Irokansi claims to have no favorites at this point in his recruitment.
