Profile 2004 - Jimmy Jackson (RB)

Posted Apr 9, 2003

Missouri's Jimmy Jackson could be the best running back in the Show Me State according to his new head coach.

Jimmy Jackson, a 5-foot-9, 197-pound, running back from Caruthersville, Missouri will be a prospect to keep an eye on in 2003.

Jackson has been flying under the recruiting radar the past couple of months but his new head coach is getting the word out.

“I feel that Jimmy Jackson could be the best running back in the state and that includes the kid (Tony Temple) from Rockhurst.” Shawn Jackson said.

“I’m moving over to Caruthersville after this school year. I’ve coached at Hayti the past three years and now I’ll be headed about five miles down the road to Caruthersville.

“The only thing bad about the move is that I’ll have to coach against William Moore and Jason Covington now.”

Jackson rushed for 1,600 yards as a junior and he’s eager for Coach Jackson to take Caruthersville to the next level.

“We haven’t been very good lately,” Jimmy Jackson said. “I’m hoping that coach Jackson can come in here and turn things around.

“I don’t have any scholarship offers yet. Iowa writes me the most. I like them as well as Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas and Kansas State.” Jackson was named all-district and 2nd team all-state in 2002. He also letters in track.
