Coaches continue to visit Hueytown
"Coach Bo Pelini and coach Tim Beck from Nebraska came by the school last week," said Jameis Winston. "Florida State and Alabama has been by as usual. Coach McElwain and the new offensive line coach came by the school. Coach Craig came by from Florida State. "Clemson has visited. Ohio State's offensive coordinator Jim Bollman visited last Thursday. I know Ohio State will definitely receive one of my official visits." Winston recently reeled in an offer from Nebraska. He talked of his connection to the Cornhuskers. "It was pretty cool to get an offer from them," he said. "It was kind of odd. The coaches usually call my coach to say they are coming, but they didn't. They came by the school unannounced. "My coach told me they offered me. They were in town to see my friend Ameer Abdullah. It's exciting to get an offer from them. I am still open right now, but it's nice to have an offer from them. Ameer has already been trying to recruit me to come there." Alabama and Florida State continue seeking his attention the most. "Those are the two schools recruiting me the hardest," said Winston. "There isn't much separation between them. Coach Craig and I have a great relationship. Coach Fisher would basically be my coach. They are the out-of-state school that is really recruiting me heavily. "I've pretty much had a relationship with Alabama since the ninth grade. They were the first school to jump on me. They have be on me real hard. Coach Sunseri and I have a real close relationship." Winston is considering a few Junior Day trips, but he has not scheduled at unofficial visits at this time.
