Scouting Jordan Shipley

Jordan Shipley is quite a talent from Burnett, Texas. The wide receiver/ cornerback looks great on film at both positions.

Without question, Jordan Shipley is one of the most talented and versatile athletes I have seen on film so far this season. This kid can flat out do it all on offense, defense and special teams. Defensively, he supports the run very well and is a big hitter. Off the edge, he is a dangerous blitzer. On one play I saw, he came off the right side and deflected an option pitch showing great quickness and anticipation. He then picked up the fumble and ran it back for a touchdown. Shipley is a solid cover guy that can accelerate so well and can turn on a dime. His great speed can make up for a mistake. Offensively, he has great hands, very good speed and will run away from you. He shows good route running, excellent concentration and is a tough blocker down field. He is also a very good kick returner and plays running back too. The senior to be from Burnet, Texas is the reigning Texas 3A Offensive Player of the Year and he made All-State at two different positions - wide receiver and cornerback. Jordan Shipley is just a playmaker and a super overall football player.
