The Philadelphia Catholic League has produced many fine quarterbacks over the past few years and another is coming up in the Class of 2013 from Roman Catholic in signal caller Michael Keir who is getting early interest.

Michael Keir, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback from Roman Catholic in Philadelphia, Pa., hasn’t hit his junior year yet, but he’s hearing from a number of schools already and has shown a lot of promise on the gridiron.

“I’ve gotten interest from Virginia and Pittsburgh and was invited to Rutgers camp last summer and will be going to camp at Boston College and Alabama this summer,” Keir stated. “I went to camp at Rutgers last summer and it went well. I was supposed to be with the sophomores, but they moved me up with the juniors and the seniors because of my performance.”

“Rutgers walked us through the stadium, the weight room and the training room and I thought it was great,” Keir said. “I liked it there. It was really nice there.”

“I like all of the schools showing interest in me right now and I’ll just go out this summer and try to do the best I can at camps. I’ve also been invited to plenty of other performance camps like FBU and NUC, so I’ll have a full plate to go out and work on.”

As a sophomore, Keir completed 70 of 148 passes for 1207 yards and 13 touchdowns at Roman Catholic. He also had a rushing score.
