Peat Picks His Program

Todd Peat

Four-star DT Todd Peat from Tempe (Az.) Corona del Sol makes commitment and signs LOI at a press conference at his elementary school

At a press conference at Johnson Elementary School in Mesa, AZ, four-star defensive tackle Todd Peat picked where he will spend the next four to five years of his life.

The Tempe Corona del Sol product narrowed his choices to Arizona State, Nebraska and Oregon State but it was the Sun Devils and Cornhuskers that waged a war in Peat's mind.

"I went back and forth between those two," he says. "I was at a basketball game tonight and I really felt like I was going to go to ASU. Then when I was driving home, the car in front of me had a Nebraska license plate and it just hit me that Nebraska was where I wanted to go."

But Peat (6-3 290) did not just pick Nebraska on a whim. "I spent a lot of time praying and asking for guidance and I feel like this is the right choice for me," Peat says.

Nebraska head man Bo Pelini may have been the biggest influence. "It came down to Coach Pelini. He believes in me as a player and his program believes in me. I love the tradition and the atmosphere and I think these coaches can bring me to my full potential."
