He suspected that the Tigers may offer him a scholarship, but he did not think it would come this early.
"Well, when I visited them Saturday they talked a lot about offering me but I expected them to offer in a couple of weeks to a month because of Signing Day. So it came somewhat of a shock."
It was a good shock because this 6-foot-3, 284 pound offensive lineman out of Maryville, Tn. has always liked the Clemson Tigers.
"It feels great. Clemson is a school I have always loved and it's pretty special for them to give me my first offer. I really have no idea why I love Clemson so much. I don't know anyone who went to Clemson but I guess I have had orange in my veins since I was born. I have just always loved Clemson so I know almost there is to know about them."
A number of other schools are showing interest in Guillermo and he feels Alabama and Cincinnati could be next when talking offers. For now though, the Tigers are on his mind and they are the school highest on his list.
"Clemson has been my top school from day one so this offer just makes me love them more then I already do."
About a year from now, this Tennessee junior will be signing with someone and now with his first offer, he is looking forward to the process.
"I can't wait. I have been dreaming of it since I was born so it will be very exciting for me."
