Matt Jones is a Gator

One of the top "big backs" in the country took an unofficial visit to the University of Florida this past weekend for junior day and has decided enough is enough.

Matt Jones, a 6'3 215-pound running back from Seffner (FL) Armwood high school, and a few of his teammates decided to take a trip to Gainesville as the Gators held their first junior day of the year.

Jones committed to head coach Will Muschamp on the visit and has decided he wants to announce to the rest of the world.

"I sat down with coach Callahan today and we decided it would be better to go ahead and go public than keep it quiet," said Jones. "This way I wont have a bunch of teams recruiting me and stuff.

"I called coach Muschamp and he was real excited. I am ready to start recruiting and bring in the top class in the country."

Jones said that he knew based on his visit last weekend that Florida was definitely the place to be.

"When I was at Florida on Saturday I knew that is what I wanted. I love the staff and coach Muschamp is great. I knew I was going to do it but I did not tell them until later in the day. I felt great up there and the Gator Nation better be ready.

"When I told coach Muschamp he was real jacked up and I made his day. He told me they needed a guy like me and great players want to play with other great players.

"I just want to go up there and compete. I plan on rocking the entire Gator nation. I want to help bring them another ring and another BCS Championship. I just want to do my thing. I feel real light right now with everything off my shoulders. I can throw on all my Gator stuff and no one can say anything about it. It feels great to have it all off my back right now. I know I made the right choice."

Jones is a member of the initial Scout.com National Top 100.
