"Illinois is my first offer and I feel very blessed and humble right now. I am happy that all of my hard work is paying off," said Ladarius Banks.
Banks found out about the Illinois offer through his coach and the news was very exciting.
"I was really ecstatic about it. I know Illinois is one of the best programs in the Big Ten and that they put guys in the NFL like Rashard Mendenhall and greats like Dick Butkus."
The Illini are now on top of Banks' list followed by Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina State, and Wake Forest.
The defensive lineman out of Dallas (GA) East Paulding is set to visit Wake Forest this weekend and N.C. State soon.
On January 30 at the Simmons Showcase in Atlanta, Banks measured in at 6-feet 2-inches tall and 263 pounds.
