Fox Earns First Offer
Plymouth's Donte Fox had an excellent junior year, helping the Wildcats reach the state title game, and now the 5-9, 175-lb defensive back has a college scholarship offer to boot, as Central Michigan became the first to offer. "It's the first one. It felt good," Fox said. "As soon as I walked through the door, they knew my name. I didn't expect that. Coach Enos said they'll be recruiting me heavy." Fox says the Chippewas made an impression on him as an all around school, not just a football program who offered him. "I really like the school and everything they were showing us and the education." The versatile Fox has played running back, cornerback, safety, and even defensive tackle. Where he plays in college is still to be determined, and CMU is willing to give him options. "They didn't even see me at running back until I gave them game film. They said man, you can play all these different positions. They were really impressed with me on defense. We didn't get into the offensive side, but I'm sure they'll talk about it." In the coming weeks, Fox will visit CMU's MAC foes, saying, " I've got Toledo and I think Western Michigan coming up." He also has another nearby school highly interested. "Michigan told me to call them and I talked to them. They're very interested in me and want to come meet me. I'll be talking to them again soon."
