Montero Impressed with Minnesota
Taylor Montero does not have any offers yet, but is receiving letters and talking with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Iowa State and Nebraska. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound recruit attended junior days at Minnesota this past weekend and is eager to head to Wisconsin for junior days on February 26. Montero said he was impressed with the Golden Gophers and said the school is definitely a place he could see himself at. "I liked it a lot with the new facilities and the new coaching staff. It was nice to see they can turn the program around and I really liked the school," Montero said. "It's one school I will put high on my list." The tight end recruit had a chance to talk with Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill. Montero said he is really working hard to build a great program. Montero was impressed. "He was very motivational. He believes in what he is doing with his coaching staff. Kill believes he can turn the program around," Montero said. Working hard and persistence is part of Montero's character and what he believes is one of his best strengths. Montero said he wants to work on two critical techniques: strength and speed. "I'm very coachable. When coaches tell me to do something, I Will Do it. No complaints," Montero said. Montero will play traveling basketball this upcoming summer, but plans to attend camps at Minnesota, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Those are the only camps he is thinking about going to so far. "In the next couple weeks, I'm going to be thinking more about the camps and how it will work with basketball," Montero said. Montero aspires to go into the medical field, but has not confirmed a major yet. Stay on Scout.com for more about Taylor Montero.
