Top 2013 QB Lands First
Illinois stepped up to the plate Wednesday afternoon, and offered top 2013 quarterback prospect Kyle Bolin, of Lexington (KY) Catholic. Bolin, 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, was understandably excited to receive his first offer. "I was offered by Illinois today, and it's almost too good to be true," Bolin told Scout.com. "My head coach told me to call Illinois assistant coach Jeff Brohm today, and he gave me the offer. I had been talking to Coach Brohm off and on, for a while now." "He said they were watching my film again today, and they didn't want to wait to see me in person," he added. "It makes me feel great, to be honest, and I know I need to work even harder now. Hopefully, there will be more offers coming." As a first-year sophomore starter, Bolin threw for over 2,300 yards with 18 touchdown tosses. He also ran for 621 yards, while scoring 12 rushing touchdowns. Bolin started at wide receiver as a freshman. Bolin is also receiving interest from Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, and many other BCS programs. Scout.com will continue to track the progress of Bolin, and update his situation as warranted.
