Commitment Spotlight: Josh Sessoms
"It's a big deal to me," Josh Sessoms said of being the first member of the 2012 class. "I really didn't know I was the first one, and when the coaches told me I was kind of excited." The 6-3, 185-pound safety is still being contacted by Tennessee and Notre Dame, but showed full confidence in his allegiance to State. "Me and my parents sat down and talked about the weekend after we went to Virginia Tech," Sessoms explained. "I told them I was going to decide that weekend. Everything at Virginia Tech was nice, but my heart was with NC State." Sessoms went on to describe what attracted him to the school. "They're great people with great hospitality," he said. "I liked the program, the coaches, and the college itself. I love it." Sessoms, who said his current high school coaches tell him he's, "already a natural leader," spoke highly of his future coaching staff. "Coach Willis and Mike Reed…I love all the coaches; they're great people, great men, and fun to be around." "Tom O'Brien, he's a great man--actually he's a military man, the way he carries himself and how the team carries themselves. I'm ready to play for him," he added. After losing the championship game his sophomore season in triple overtime, Sessoms is going into his senior year with high hopes. "I hope we get the championship because my high school coach definitely deserves it," he said. "I'm just ready to work hard and keep working on my game."
