Midwest Week In Review

A lot of offers were handed out this week, and one commit even happened in the Big Ten. Stay up to date with new offers, and a few throughout the week you may have missed in this Midwest rewind.

  • According to Midwest reporter Katie Priebe, Michigan has offered Kenosha Bradford running back Vonte Jackson.

  • Indiana offered three of Michigan's best in recent days: Flint Powers defensive tackle Danny O'Brien, Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Terry Richardson, and Orchard Lake St. Mary's linebacker James Ross.

Additionally, Richardson was offered by Notre Dame (Full story by Jeff Baumhower) and O'Brien was offered by Illinois on Thursday.

  • As we reported yesterday, Bolingbrook (Ill.) linebacker Antonio Morrison landed four offers: Colorado State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. Today, Morrison reported that Minnesota and Illinois both offered, his first two from the Big Ten.

His teammate, guard Robert Bain, was offered by Colorado State as well.

  • Scout's Bill Greene reports Austintown Fitch (Ohio) running back William Mahone landed an offer from Penn State last night. That adds to a solid list for the 5-11, 200-lb back. A list that also includes Michigan State and Cincinnati among others.

  • Warren Central assistant coach Greg Brookey reports Sheldon Day, his star defensive tackle, has added an offer from Minnesota. Spartan Digest's Dave Berk filed a report on Michigan State's interest in Day.

The Gophers were busy this week. They offered an in-state tight end, Osseo High's 6-7, 245-lb Will Johnson, and St. Thomas Academy guard Isaac Hayes. They also gained a commitment from multi-talented Maxx Williams, who projects as an H-Back or linebacker, as GoldenSports.net's Josh Schuerman reported earlier in the week.

  • We reported yesterday that Taylor Decker, a 6-8, 260-lb offensive tackle from Vandalia-Butler (Ohio) was offered by Notre Dame. IrishEyes' Dave Berk caught up with Decker for an update on where the Irish stand.

Another school that has offered Decker is Michigan, and GoBlueWolverine.com's Christopher Smith got Decker's thoughts on the maize and blue.

Michigan also offered another Ohio offensive tackle, Cleveland Heights' Kyle Dodson.

  • A lot happened in Ohio this week. Don't miss this story Big Red Report's Steve Ryan did on Akron Hoban DE Greg McMullen, one of the top prospects in the state.

Bill Greene reported earlier in the week that Akron Buchtel teammates WR Corey Smith and safety Jarrod Wilson were offered by Notre Dame. Smith had landed an offer from Tennessee earlier as well.

Another Ohio native, Upper Arlington safety/wide receiver Frank Epitropoulos was offered by Wisconsin on Wednesday night.

  • Detroit Catholic Central (MI) defensive tackle Matt Godin picked up new offers this week. Missouri offered mid-week on the heels of a Michigan offer. Godin visited the Wolverines on Tuesday. One school still in the mix for him too is Michigan State, who he spoke about in this update.
