The 6-foot, 185-pound Kenosha Bradford (Wisc.) running back took home an offer from Michigan today…
Jackson Talks Michigan Offer
Vonte Jackson earned a Michigan offer and is eager to visit to learn more about the program. He plans on scheduling a visit in the near future. "I'm pretty excited they offered me. The reputation that Michigan has is pretty great," Jackson said. "I talked to their recruitment coordinator who came from the Ravens. He is excited about offering me." But what stands out to Jackson about the Michigan football program? "Their coaches were telling me they are going back to the pro-style offense. That is what the rest of the Big Ten runs and that is exciting because you use the running game a lot more," Jackson said. The 6-foot, 185-pound recruit said this is a major benefit about Michigan's program. Jackson said he is eager to see Michigan's football stadium. "I know they have one of the biggest stadiums in college football, so I want to get a chance to see that," Jackson said. "I plan to go down and visit to learn more about them and see what they have to offer." Jackson already has offers from Iowa, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State and Minnesota. He will be heading to Michigan State this weekend for Junior Days. Jackson will also make a trip to Gopher land on March 6th to see their program and facilities. "I pretty much want to get to know the kind of football program they are. I'm not too familiar with them," Jackson said about Michigan State. "When I finally do come down to making my decision I want to make sure that I went to Michigan State to get to know their program and facilities." Jackson said all the schools are fairly even for now, but Wisconsin has a slight edge. "I would say they are all pretty much even. Wisconsin has a slight edge because they are my home school," Jackson said. "They were the first school to offer and they showed me the most interest out of all the other schools." But what are some of Jackson's strengths? "I think my speed and my hands coming out of the backfield are my top two strengths," Jackson said. "The one thing I really want to work on is yards after contact." Jackson is working on his game through agility workouts in the off-season. Currently, Jackson does not have any camps planned.
