Westerkamp Gets to Double Digits
Jordan Westerkamp is now at ten offers, as a weekend visit to East Lansing resulted in yet another offer for the 6-2, 195-lb receiver. "I received an offer from Michigan State today," he reported. "I was at Junior. Day and talked with Coach Dantonio. He said they really are excited about me. The receiver coach, offensive coordinator and Coach Dantonio watched my film together and said the loved what I did on the field." The Spartans evaluated Westerkamp and gave him specific qualities they noticed in his game. "They feel I am a big play receiver who catches the ball great with my hands and is very dangerous after the catch. They said they also liked how physical I played." Westerkamp liked them as well, saying, "I hope to get back there for a spring practice." He also made it to South Bend this weekend for a junior day with Notre Dame. While an offer was not produced, there was not a shortage of good news from the Fighting Irish. "That went great also. They said I am one of the 15 receivers they are recruiting. They started with 250 receivers and are now down to 15." Notre Dame is a school that Westerkamp hopes he can add to his list. "Hopefully I will get offered soon. The visit was real nice. They have a great history. I was able to talk with Coach Alford, the receivers coach, and he said he really liked my film." Westerkamp also holds offers from Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Boston College, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Indiana, and others.
