Connecticut, Purdue, Temple and UCLA have been showing interest in Philadelphia, Pa., tight end Aaron Allison and the ultra-productive tight end will be working on his speed this offseason so he can pick up offers at the highest levels.

Aaron Allison’s offensive numbers may not fly off the page to people who aren’t familiar with Frankford High School Football, but his 27 catches not only led the team last year, but if you add up the receptions of the rest of the teams’ receivers, they would only equal his total for the season. We spoke to him on Tuesday about the start of his recruiting.

“I’ve been getting recruited by Purdue, Connecticut, Temple and UCLA,” Allison said. “Connecticut invited me up to a lot of home games last year and I still get letters from them on a weekly basis. Temple came into the school and showed interest in me on the defensive side of the ball, but then they saw my size and liked me at tight end. UCLA has been sending me mail, but they’re not quite as serious as the others.”

“I haven’t talked to the new staffs at Connecticut or Temple yet, so I’d like to hear from them, but I am still getting letters from them,” Allison stated. “I do like that Temple is really close to home and I want to go into the medical field, so they offer a good program with that. Connecticut has a very good graduation rate and also helps you in life after football. I’m not just thinking about football, I’m thinking about life after football. It’s the same thing with Purdue, they offer great academics. I’m taking a trip up there this summer.”

As a junior, Allison caught 27 passes for 443 yards and five touchdowns, including a two-point conversion.

Allison carries a 3.5 GPA and takes Honors classes in American History, Chemistry, English III and Algebra II. He is also running for Class President as a senior and has the highest GPA on the Frankford football team.
