Mooney Starts With Two Offers

Malvern Prep School offensive lineman Michael Mooney has two offers right now from East Carolina and Villanova and is hearing from a number of other large programs that he is hoping to go out and visit this summer.

Michael Mooney, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive guard from Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pa., has two offers on the table and once he finds out which schools are most serious about him he'll be building a camp schedule for the spring and summer.

"Right now I have offers from ECU and Villanova," Mooney stated. "I'm going down to visit East Carolina in two weeks for their junior day. I really don't know a whole lot about them other than they run the spread, so I'll be looking to learn about them on that visit."

"South Florida, TCU, Boston College, Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Penn State have been showing some interest as well," Mooney added. "I went to a camp at Boston College last summer and I liked it a lot up there. The coaches were pretty cool and I liked the coach that recruits this area."

"Penn State, Boston College and Pitt are three schools that definitely stand out to start, but it's obviously early in the process for me. I'm going to a Nike Camp up at Rutgers on May 1st and that's the only camp I'm scheduled for right now, but we'll see if I can get out to some others. I just have to see who is showing the most interest at that point."

As a junior, Mooney was named first-team All-Inter-Ac on the offensive line. He was also first-team All-Main Line and All-City.
