Mt. San Antonio (Calif.) College safety E.J. Woods was an UnderArmour All-American in 2008 and signed with UCLA in February of 2008.
After spending his freshman year with the Bruins, Woods left and went to Eastern Arizona and then sat out last season.
Now at Mt. SAC, Woods is hoping to return to the D-I ranks.
"I'm just working out, getting bigger, faster and better and hoping for a chance," said Woods. "I'm working on getting my A.A., and I will have it next winter. I can be somewhere for next spring practice."
Woods will play this final season at Mt. SAC before he looks for a new opportunity.
"I'm interested in a bunch of different schools," said Woods. "Miami, Washington, USC, Oregon State and Oregon and then Fresno State, where my coach in high school was a coach."
Woods was a top 10 safety out of high school, but didn't get on the field at UCLA, redshirting that season.
"I'm willing to play anything," said Woods. "I'm playing cornerback, safety and kick returner."
Woods is hoping that Mt. SAC, a frequent stop for many college coaches during the spring, will bring him that last shot.
"We have a guy on our team that everyone is coming to look at so I'm just going to show out when they get here," said Woods.
