Profile 2003 - Austin Joseph (DB)
Austin Joseph has a big interest in Florida State, and
he went to the Nike Camp in Gainesville to prove himself against
Florida's best athletes. Joseph was a standout at the camp, and will be
a player to watch for this fall. At 6-1 and 180
pounds, Joseph has great size at the cornerback position. With and
amazing 340 pound bench press, he is extremely physical at the line of
scrimmage, and he runs well with a 4.5 forty. Because of his size and
quickness, he could make the transition to safety on the next level, or
stay a physical cover corner. "I grew up
playing wide receiver," said Joseph. "My secondary coach moved
me over to corner last year, and I really liked it. I'll play both ways
this year." When asked about his favorite
schools, Florida State was said quickly. "I
really like Florida State. I also like Tennessee and Texas, and I'm
looking at teams like Georgia Tech, Miami, and Stanford too. Southern
Miss has offered me a scholarship already." Joseph
is an excellent student, and he excels on a different field as well.
Joseph plays striker for the #7 ranked Collins Hill Soccer Team, and
they will be running the gauntlet over the next week as they take on #2
Brookwood and #1 Parkview.
