Florida athlete likes Miami
It's very common in the state of Florida for prep quarterbacks to be recruited as wide receivers or defensive back prospects at the next level. That's the case with Mount Dora High standout Vegas Harley. At 6-feet and 180 pounds, Harley plays QB in high school and does so very productively. In 2010, he passed for 1,261 yards and 14 touchdowns and also rushed for 1,837 yards and 15 scores. He could end up on defense in college. "I just wanna do whatever I can to get on the field," he said. "I'm all about helping my team." The standout rising senior has collected some offers already. "I have them from Illinois, Memphis, FIU, and USF," he said. "Those are the ones who have so far and others are showing interest." In addition to those four, two schools are jumping out to him. "I like Florida and Miami and all the Florida schools really," he said. "Miami, what's not to like about them. They've been sending me stuff and I'm interested in them. Florida, I just like the atmosphere and my mom could come to watch all my games because it's close."
