Orlando WR has offer, interest in Miami

Alton Howard, who goes by "Pig", is one of the top players in all of central Florida and he has plenty of offers to show for it. He recently visited Miami and talked more about his interest in the Canes.

Alton Howard has offers from all over the place. USC and Notre Dame, just on Wednesday, were his newest ones. One school who had previously offered is Miami.

"I went down there for one of the Junior Days," Howard said. "The facilities were great. I met Al Golden and he seems like a good dude. All those coaches are good dudes down there. I felt real comfortable there and I'm looking more into it now."

Howard, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, finished his junior season with 546 rushing yards and 1146 receiving and 23 touchdowns.

As a prospect: He played a few different positions at Edgewater last season and made an impact at all of them. He got most of his yards on the ground as a junior. He's very fast and elusive in the open field. He's also a very good cornerback but probably projects best as a wide receiver at the college level. At 5-10, he has difference-maker type speed, soft hands, and he's a natural and finding openings in the secondary. He'll be one of the top prospects in all the central Florida area in 2011 and is already collecting offers.
