Jordan Jenkins and Father on Gators
Jordan Jenkins was accompanied by his mother and father this weekend and FightinGators.com caught up with them for the latest. Jenkins is a 6'3 235-pound defensive standout from Hamilton (GA) Harris County high school. "Very impressed, I mean very impressed," Mr. Ronald Jenkins said. "The staff has so much knowledge and experience. All the experience they have on one staff is just amazing. Coach Muschamp talked about team and talked about how much they want him to be part of the program. He talked about how he would make him a better player and get the best out of his God given abilities. It was a real home feel. From the head coach to the defensive coordinator everyone was great and we really enjoyed it. We are refreshed again with Florida. We already knew but we have been gone a while so it was good to get back down there and it was just very impressive. We sat do weekend with the engineering department guy and Jordan really got a kick out of him and he broke down the degree plan and different classes they have. It was just a great visit. I don't know how else to put it, very very impressed." Mr. Jenkins was impressed with the coaches, the team and the way practice was held. "Nothing but professionalism to have a guy like that on the staff [Bryant Young] it was a big impression on us to see him there. We watched the DL during practice and we saw a bunch of Ronald Powell and we are overly impressed with every part of it and so was Jordan, hands down he was very impressed. We enjoyed the way they ran practice. For the first day of hitting we could not have picked a better time to go to practice. It was great to see the team and how excited they were and there was a little smack talking which we like. They seem to really be bonding as a team. I could tell Jordan was excited and happy with what went on and he had a great time." The younger Jenkins was very impressed with what the Gators had to offer this weekend as much as his father. "I feel like WM is a great guy and I really like him. I felt like I could trust him and everything down here is great. I felt like I could work under that guy. I didn't really get a chance to speak with coach Young but I did talk to coach Quinn for a little while. It went real good, I really like him a lot to. He told me some great things I could do for the program. He is a really great coach. I would put Florida in the high end of my top teams right now. I already had a great feeling I would like coach Muschamp because my head coach knew him and told me he was a great guy. I knew he was going to be a great guy and he was just like that." Five Star Defensive End Jordan Jenkins.
