A Note From Williams to PSU
Camren Williams CHOOSES Penn State Catholic Memorial junior linebacker Camren Williams has committed to Penn State University. Williams committed to Head Coach Joe Paterno during a visit this weekend. Williams recently narrowed his schools to 5 (Michigan, North Carolina, Maryland, and Wake Forest) before choosing Penn State. The major factors in his decision were: Penn State is the number one ranked Kinesiology School in the country. PSU has a plan and the opportunity for Camren to play early. He will play the Hero (Strong Safety) or Linebacker. Thirdly, no program paid more attention, and was more encouraging to Camren after he injured his knee early last season. Coach Bill Kenney sent him cards and letters almost daily during his rehab. Coach Kenney visited with his Head Coach Alex Campea every week during the evaluation period. And was the first coach to send a note congratulating Camren on his return to play last season. Finally, football tradition is very important to Camren who had the opportunity to be on the field when Coach Paterno won his 400th game, and the opportunity play for the same coach that his godfather (former Nittany Lion) Michael Timpson played for means a lot.
