"I have some letters from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee and USM," said Kalen. "Nobody has offered me yet. They are just sending letters right now.
"I went to Junior Day at Mississippi State and I enjoyed that."
Jackson has spent some time in Starkville before, but his junior day visit was more detailed.
"Junior day went real good," explained Kalen. "I like the campus a lot.
"I have been to camp up there before and I went up there for the Arkansas game this past year. I had a good time up there then."
The Simpson County standout reports that he is content to take his time and prove to college coaches that he can help their programs win games.
"I am looking for a family environment most of all," said Jackson. "I want to find a good place that I can play.
"Everybody is talking about me playing corner and I like playing corner."
Kalen plans to take in some college camps soon including another summer camping trip to Mississippi State.
For now, Jackson's travel plans have taken a back seat to his play on the baseball diamond.
"I have been playing baseball, so I haven't been able to go a lot of places yet.
"We're 16-1 right now, so we're having a good season. We have a pretty good team this year.
"I am playing third and my batting average is around .400."
