Tackling machine Bryton Barr just picked up his first verbal scholarship offer from newly anointed Temple head coach Steve Addazio after an unofficial visit to Temple University on Saturday afternoon.

“I got my first offer yesterday from Temple,” Bryton Barr stated. “I went up there yesterday for practice and after seeing that I went into Coach (Steve) Addazio’s office and he let me know they were going to offer me.”

“I’m super excited about the offer,” Barr added. “I don’t know how to put it into words really. The campus was really nice. We visited the Fox Business School and it was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen and that was a plus because that’s one of the things I’m planning to major in.”

“The coaches were great with me and I got to talk with the linebackers coach too. He loved the way I got to the ball and how physical I was. Coach Addazio told me that some schools would say that my size is a problem, but it wasn’t for him and that he’d love to have me there.”

As a junior, Barr registered 175 tackles, forced five fumbles and intercepted two passes in only nine games. He also had 16 catches for 521 yards and eight touchdowns as a tight end.
