After stops
in Akron and Ohio State the past two years, New Level Athletics is bringing
their Midwest 7v7 Passing Camp to the University of Pittsburgh this weekend.
There will be plenty of talent on hand and Scout.com the industry leader in
recruiting coverage will be on hand covering the event.
Here is a
preview of the defensive backs that will display their skills at this event. Who
will shine the brightest one of these known commodities or will an unknown
newcomer rise up and steal the spotlight?
Defensive Backs:
Terry Smith’s Western PA Swag I team has a lot of interchangeable players who
can play multiple positions. Jeannette/Pa. Three-star Demetrious Cox is a
two-way standout who will play safety. Pittsburgh/Pa./Shady Side Academy athlete
Reggie Mitchell is one of the best under-the-radar players in the WPIAL.
Pittsburgh/Pa./Penn Hills safety Chaz Whittaker is a converted quarterback that
can also play wide receiver. The unheralded star and player we think along with
Corey Jones who will blow up after this event is Erie/Pa./Cathedral Prep
cornerback Anthony Jordan. We just found out about Jordan recently and from what
we have heard he may be the best cover corner in the state. Western PA Swag
II will be led by Pittsburgh/Pa./Perry sophomore Brenden Edwards.
The Goon
Squad will be led by the best defensive back in Massachusetts Armani Reeves
who has a boatload of offers along with New York star safety Wayne Morgan.
Morgan hits like a truck, but this event will test his coverage skills. Also in
the Goon Squad secondary from New York is Iona Prep standout Justin Combs. The
son of Sean “Puff Daddy “P.Diddy” Combs. We’ll see if he can backpedal as
smoothly as his father can spit lyrics. Combs had a solid showing at the Army
All-American Combine.
Max Ex
Blitz will have a solid secondary featuring Detroit/Mich./Cass Tech athlete
Ruben Lile, who holds an offer from Western Michigan. Southfield/Mich.
Cornerback Leviticus Payne not only has the coolest name at the event, but he
holds offers from Iowa and Toledo. The Virginia team is led by
Portsmouth/Va./Woodrow Wilson safety Der’Woun Greene who holds offers from
Virginia and Virginia Tech. Maryland Flex is led by Brandywine/Md./Gwynn Park
cornerback Brandon Banks who holds offers from Maryland, Vanderbilt and Towson.
The
Maryland Dream Team has a very talented group of defensive backs including
Baltimore/Md./Poly cornerback Donovan Riley who holds offers from Virginia Tech
and Vanderbilt. Riley showed out at the Army All-American Combine in January.
Michigan Preps I features Canton/Mich./Plymouth cornerback Donte Fox who
holds offers from Central Michigan and Toledo. New York is led by
Rochester/N.Y./Aquinas safety Jahmahl Pardner who holds Buffalo and Akron
offers. He is a versatile athlete that can also play cornerback or wide
receiver. Delaware features a pair of talented defensive backs Khaliq
Gaston and Jordan Imeokparia.
