1on1 SHOWCASE Orlando: Fastest Man

Posted Apr 11, 2011

Winter Haven's A.J. Lane will only be a junior this fall but that didn't stop him from winning the Fastest Man award at the 1on1 SHOWCASE Camp in Orlando on Saturday.

A.J. Lane is an outstanding running back prospect, and he's only going to be a junior. At 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds, Lane is built like a rock and can take the ball between the tackles.

At the 1on1 SHOWCASE Camp on Saturday, Lane proved he has the speed to make big things happen anywhere on the field. He talked about his experience at the camp.

"It was a great experience," Lane said. "I ran a good 40 and did good in the one on ones."

The standout rising junior is already being recruited nationally and will look to be a four or five-star prospect for the 2013 class.

"I have offers from Florida, USF, FSU, and South Carolina," he said. "Right now, in no order, I like Florida, South Carolina, and Louisville. "Alabama was my favorite growing up."

Lane then talked about what he'll be looking for in choosing a school.

"First, academics and then seeing how many running backs they pull in my 2013 year and take it from there."
