Marcus Wilson helped Lincoln High win a state championship a few months ago and he was voted the overall MVP of the Jacksonville 1on1 SHOWCASE Camp over the weekend.
"I had a great time out there competing with my brothers at Lincoln," Wilson said. "I had fun. We all had a good time. We wanted to bring that MVP trophy back to Lincoln. One of us had to. That camp helped everyone get better. I saw a lot of kids from schools we played against in the playoffs so it was good seeing them up close and competing against them again like that."
Wilson, 6-feet and 185 pounds, is one of the top DB prospects in north Florida.
"I don't have any offers yet but I'm just staying patient," he said. "I like LSU, USF, Florida State, Florida, and Alabama. LSU was my favorite team growing up. I've been watching them since they won the national title. Patrick Peterson is my favorite player. There are a lot of reasons why I like them."
Despite the interest in LSU, Wilson remains wide open.
"I'm open to any offers at this point," he said. "If a school offers me, I'd love to check them out. I wanna find a coach who stresses grades a lot. I wanna find a coach who knows my GPA as well as he does my football stats. I gotta find a comfortable place in order to make a decision."
