Alex Pace profile
"I have been to Ohio State, Michigan, Toledo, Kent State and Akron and I am going to Illinois and Cincinnati this weekend," said Pace. "I am going to Mississippi State on June 5th.
"They want me to come down then, so they can see me in person. My coach and a couple of my teammates are going down there."
A handful of schools close to home have come forth with a scholarship offer for Alex and he believes more options may soon be a reality.
"I have offers from Toledo, Akron, Kent State, Ohio and Youngstown State," said Pace. "I think Illinois, Syracuse, Mississippi State and Cincinnati are getting close to offering me too.
"Bowling Green, Air Force, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati all say they are coming to see me this spring when they do their evaluations."
Pace believes he has the ability to play with his hand on the ground on the college level. He has no problems lining up over the ball or out on the edge.
"I want to play anywhere on the defensive line," said Alex. "I played defensive tackle last season. I like being in the trenches and fighting all day.
"I like fighting off of blocks and getting to the quarterback. I just love the competition on the line."
No time table for a decision has been established, but Alex has a good idea about what he is looking for in a college program.
"I want to play for a winning team that cares for me like a family," said Pace. "I am thinking about majoring in civil engineering or some type of sports medicine."
