Top 2013 Prospect Taking Visits
Avon (OH) cornerback Ross Douglas is one of the top 2013 prospects in Ohio, and he has been very busy this year, taking unofficial visits and participating in combines. Douglas, 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, has performed exceptionally at the National Underclassmen Combine in Orlando, the Michigan Football Showcase in Michigan, and the Raw Talent Sports combine in Cleveland. "Things are going really well for me," Douglas stated. "It seems like I'm out there every weekend, either competing in combines or visiting schools, but I really love doing both. I will go anywhere to compete against great players, and I'm also interested in meeting different coaches and seeing their schools." Tuesday saw Douglas head back to Columbus for another visit with Ohio State. Once again, he came away impressed with what he saw. "Things went really good at Ohio State and I loved being there," Douglas stated. "I loved how competitive things are at their practice, and they had the Michigan fight song playing over the loud speakers. It was very intense for it being a spring practice." "I spoke to the defensive back coach, Taver Johnson, and he told me he really likes my film," he added. "I'm already signed up for the two-day camp and they said they would be evaluating me closely at that time. I'm definitely high on Ohio State, and would love to be offered some day." Douglas has already taken a few unofficial visits, and has a trip upcoming to Florida to check out the three in-state powers. "I've been to North Carolina, Michigan and Michigan State," he explained. "I really liked North Carolina a lot, and it was beautiful there, especially compared to Ohio weather. I really liked their coaching staff and the facilities, and I'm definitely interested. I will also be going to their summer camp." "Michigan was great, and my dad and I thought their coaching staff was very impressive, especially (defensive coordinator) Greg Mattison," he added. "We spent a lot of time together and it was impressive. I've been to Michigan State a lot already and I'm very comfortable with that school. I will be at camp at both schools as well." "This weekend I'm going with my dad and my teammate, Bryan Cox Jr., to Florida," he continued. "We are going to check out Miami, Florida State and Florida, and we're really excited about seeing all three schools. I'm still wide open regarding schools, and I'm interested in everyone right now." Scout.com will continue to track the recruitment of Douglas and will have a report next week on his weekend trip to Florida.
