Kolby Listenbee, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound quarterback/athlete from Arlington Bowie committed to play for TCU today over offers from schools like Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Kansas State.
"Yes sir," Listenbee confirmed about his commitment to TCU. "I went on a visits over there and I liked it a lot. The coaches there felt like my coaches (at Bowie) and they have really good fans. It is close to home and it gives me a good opportunity."
There has been a debate about what position fits him best on the next level, but TCU sees him getting a shot to go under center.
"They are going to let me play quarterback and if that does not go as planned then they are going to give me a shot at receiver or wildcat quarterback."
Listenbee was full of thanks on what ended up being a very happy Easter day for him and his family.
"First off I want to thank God," Listenbee explained. "I also want to thank my dad (Joe). he has helped me out a lot with all of this and I want to thank my little big brother (Joseph) and my mom (Debbie). I also want to thank my coaches at Bowie and coach Murray, my quarterback coach."
Listenbee finished his junior season passing for 970 yards and nine touchdowns. He rushed for 1,077 yards and 13 touchdowns. He says he can bench 235-pounds, squat 345 and has a 37-inch vertical jump.
