Get Ready For Leak
Donovan Roberts, the 6-foot, 200-pound three-star running back from Norman, Okla., did not have a lot of time to talk, but he said he will be making his decision tomorrow (April 27). Initially, Roberts only plans on letting the coaches know about that decision. "I'm doing a press conference over the weekend," Roberts said. "But I'm sure it'll leak before then. "I've been ready to commit for a while now," he admitted. "I want to get it over with. It's really between Arkansas and Pittsburgh, but I also like Michigan, Arizona and Tulsa too." All five of those schools that Roberts mentioned have offered as well as Kansas State, Iowa State and Indiana. Scout.com's No. 36 running back will be visiting the Razorbacks on Wednesday and will make his decision shortly after the visit. "I'm going there with my mom because she hasn't seen them yet," he said. "When we get back I'll commit. "Pittsburgh and Arkansas both have the history and the coaches that I was looking for," he said. "They really seem to care about the kids at those places. They're both great programs." Growing up he says he followed the in-state programs, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but neither offered. Roberts finished his junior season with 308 carries for 2,002 yards and 32 touchdowns. "I feel like I'm a physical runner," he said. "I can run and avoid tackles with speed and I can also overpower guys too. I'm very hard-nosed." He says he can bench 260-pounds, squat 500 and claims a 37-inch vertical jump. Roberts hopes to major in sports broadcasting or journalism. He reports a 3.1 core GPA and took the ACT on April 9.
