Rubio Long Snapping and Chris Sailer Kicking continued their Nike Spring camps in GA on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Long Snappers representing GA, AL, TN, MS and SC came out to learn from the best and get the most exposure out there for Long Snappers in the country. Rubio Long Snapping is continuing to dominate the Long Snapping world with over 100 Long Snappers sent to college in the past two year. Rubio Long Snapping even has a 2012 Long Snapper that has been offered two full scholarships and committed!
Long snapping instructor Chris Rubio of Rubio Long Snapping / Chris Sailer Kicking was on hand to guide the snappers through the various sections of the camp. The camp’s many facets were on-field instruction, film/classroom review, recruiting seminar led by the NCSA along with Rubio and Chris Sailer, and wrapped up with a competition. The winner of the competition earned a FREE admission to the 9th Annual Snapping Spring Event sponsored by Nike in Las Vegas on May 14-15, 2011.
The winner of the Nike Spring Camp in GA was Tucker Etheridge (GA). Tucker is a sophomore and has been to several Rubio Long Snapping Camps. Tucker is an explosive Long Snapper that is well above the curve for his age group. Solid frame, a great attitude and a fast snap make him one to definitely keep an eye on.
Here are some of the Long Snappers that stood out:
Harrison Elliott (GA) headed to Air Force and is going to be a great one. Snapping with extreme confidence and poise. Handles pressure well and is just on fire. Looks very sharp right now.
Matt Giampapa (TN) headed to Michigan St and looks to be able to easily compete as the starter next year. Did very well under pressure and has improved each and every single time I have seen him in action. Very hard worker.
Reid Ferguson (GA) was a machine all day. This Long Snapper is so ready for the next level it is almost disturbing. Built like a college player already and snaps as fast too. Just a flat out monster.
San Diego State offered Ferguson, his first offer, after the camp.
Cory Cheadle (SC) is completely healthy and smooth as can be. Amazing flexibility and strength. Form is exceptional.
William Eads (AL) is a Long Snapper with excellent flexibility and accuracy. Never misses. Bigger he gets, the better he becomes.
Daniel LaMontagne (GA) is a very solid Long Snapper with almost perfect form. Has excellent speed and is very accurate. Definitely one to watch.
Jackson Britton (AL) handles pressure very well and has a great overall snap. Uses his frame very well. Excellent explosion. Great kid.
Luke Burnham (MS) is as smooth as a Long Snapper can be with his snap. Solid form and ball zips back there. Very accurate.
Ryan Eustace (GA) might have close to perfect form and he uses it very well. Creates a ton of speed with his body. Fun to watch him snap.
Nick Brown (GA) excellent frame and overflowing with potential.
Carl Rider (GA) also has a perfect Long Snapping frame and drips with potential. He and Nick Brown caught my eye immediately. Watch those two to see how they progress.
Jacob Carr (GA) is getting closer and closer to being “there” with his snapping. Great frame. When it clicks for him, it will be ugly for the rest of the Long Snappers within his class.
