Black focused on regional schools

BOTHELL, Wash. - At 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, Connor Black stands out from a crowd. And the junior receiver from Wenatchee, Wash. did plenty of standing out Saturday at the Barton Football 2011 Washington Marketing Workout, arguably having as good a day as any receiver in attendance.

There were rumors rumbling on the sidelines during the workout that Idaho had already offered Black a scholarship, but Black defused the speculation.

"They haven't offered me yet," he said. "But they have talked to me a lot, and they want me to come check out the school. I'd say they are my favorite right now. They are showing the most interest."

Washington State is another school that is intrigued with Black, who scored seven times in 2010. "I've definitely been talking to them," he said.

Black will continue to ride the positive wave of recruiting momentum by going to a SPARQ combine, as well as the Nike Washington camp at the University of Washington. "I'm also going to go to Idaho's camp for sure," he added. "Maybe Washington State's, and Oregon State's."
