"Florida International offered me and it felt great to get my first offer," said E.J. Hilliard. "I have been very patient, waiting for this, and letting everything play out."
FIU is a school Hilliard knows a good bit about.
"My close friend Anthony Gaitor played for them, so I used to go to almost all of their home games. Four players from Northwestern are going there too, so I have been around their campus a lot."
The 6-foot-2, 170 pound quarterback out of Miami (FL) Northwestern has interest in the school that offered him first and he had good things to say about the coach that is recruiting him.
"I really like how Coach Ponce is on top of the players that he recruits. I like how straight forward he is and how he recruits kids from the inner city schools. He likes kids that have a chip on their shoulder and that have something to prove."
Cincinnati, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M, and USC are some schools that Hilliard said he is currently hearing from.
