Kiante Northington is one of Kentucky’s 2012 sleepers who could be preparing for a big season to finish off his high school career.
Kiante Northington has been working hard on his game during the off-season to improve in multiple aspects. Northington reported a 4.65 forty time last season. Early this month Northington bested that effort with a 4.48.
“My workouts are going real well. I just been working on my speed and getting stronger,” he said. “I’m focused on getting faster and (improving my) yards after the catch,” he said.
Northington went to Cleveland, Ohio earlier this month for the Under Armour Football Combine where he weighed in at 160 pounds – 15 pounds more than he weighed going into his junior season. That is shown in his bench press, where Northington benched 185-pounds ten times.
Northington also plans to go to the National Underclassmen Combine this spring as well as camp at Kentucky, West Virginia, Ole Miss and Ohio State.
Recruiting wise, he’s heard most from Kentucky and Hanover.
Last season Northington caught 28 passes for 501 yards and five touchdowns.
