Despite starting for the University of Memphis last year, cornerback Mohammed Seisay has decided to transfer. He will head to Eastern Arizona JC and he talks to Scout.com about leaving.
Seisay says, "First and foremost, I would like to thank the University of Memphis for the amazing opportunity that they provided me. This includes both the current and former staff who recruited me, as well as all of the individuals within the Athletic Department who gave me excellent support. The coaching that I received from both staffs has made me a better player and I will take those improved techniques and understanding of the game with me as I continue to master my craft. The experience that I gained during the two years at Memphis both at practice and on the field during my redshirt freshman season was invaluable and allowed me to greatly improve my skills. I wish Coach Porter, his staff, and my teammates all the best in the 2011 season and in the future.
As for my future, my goal is to continue to pursue my education and to demonstrate that my skills are worthy of another opportunity to play and contribute to a Division 1 program. I am concentrating on preparing myself for the upcoming season and my summer academic coursework. Regarding future opportunities, I would be interested in completing my undergraduate studies at a school that would provide a solid education and an opportunity to compete for playing time in the 2012 season."
