Nelson Updates the Process
Andante Nelson profile "I thought our spring game went pretty good," said Andante. "There are some things we could do better, but I feel like things went pretty good. "I feel like I have gotten better against the double team. I used to hate it, but now I love going against a double team. I like being able to spit the double team and go make a play." As a veteran player, Nelson is eager to lead the team in their off season events and on the field of play. "I feel like now that we are the older guys that have been out here doing this for a while that we should be dominating on both sides of the ball," said Andante. "We start summer workouts June 6th, so we seniors are going to make sure everybody is there and that we do right. I feel like if we do that then we have the ability to play for a state championship." In addition to helping his high school team get ready for the season, Nelson will be looking to put his best foot forward in hopes of finding the right team for his career beyond the high school level. "I am going to go to Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and every camp I can get to," said Andante. "I am working hard to really get my name out there." The chance to earn a college degree and better himself after his playing days are done are things that are important to the capital city standout. "I want to be a physical therapist," said Nelson. "I want to graduate college. Our coach has always told us that there is a reason that student comes first for a student athlete. Football has to come second."
