2012 Intro: Christian Hauber
Kirtland (OH) fullback Christian Hauber says he is a good leader on the field and people tend to look up to him. "I act as a second coach on the football field." It's that leadership and that has garnered the junior an offer from Air Force. "They visited me a couple of times at school and had called me a few times. And offered me about a week ago. I've talked to a couple of the coaches and they were really nice, said Hauber. "I would have to play football for 4 years then serve in the Air Force for 4 or 5 years. I'm very interested in doing that." Hauber hasn't visited the campus yet, but is looking forward to doing it soon. "I've heard that Colorado Springs is a great place and I plan to check it out in the summer." Other schools have also been coming in to talk the 6-foot-1, 218 pound junior. "I've been talking to a lot of the MAC schools, mainly Miami, Akron, Kent State, Toledo, Bowling Green and Ohio." While the MAC schools are recruiting Hauber to play middle line backer, Air Force sees the junior as a fullback. "They run the triple offense and think that I would fit in pretty well there." The fullback will be busy this summer. Aside from attending Ohio State's camp June 12th, he will also camp at Miami, Akron, Kent State, Bowling Green and Ohio University. The junior is hoping that once those camps are over, he'll be ready to make his finial decision. "I'm hoping to commit by the end of the summer. It might go into football season a little bit. I just want to make sure that coaches are able to see me this summer." Hauber says he definitely wants play at a bigger school, preferring it to be Division 1. But something that won't be too important is distance. "I don't think it will really matter. I'd like to stay close to home but if I get an opportunity, then I'm going to take it."
