Halverson Earns Camp Honors
Portland (Ore.) Grant linebacker Daniel Halverson has attended almost every camp possible this spring, most notably, picking up the position MVP at the Stanford Nike Camp. "I finished track last week," said Halverson. "Now I am just getting ready for some camps. I have the Barton 7on7 at Washington and then I think I might be at the Nike camp at Oregon on June 4th." The 6'3" 220lbs linebacker is still waiting for his first Pac-12 offer, but has been hearing from schools all over the country. "I have heard from every coach in the Pac-12, Vanderbilt and Tennessee," said Halverson. "Then the schools that have offered me as well." Halverson currently holds offers from Air Force and Yale. The junior talked about which programs he feels like are recruiting him the hardest. "I would say the Ivy League schools are the ones recruiting me the hardest," said Halverson. "I have been having a lot of talks with UW as well, I really like Washington." Halverson is being recruited mainly as a linebacker, with most schools open to him playing inside or outside. However, Halverson mentioned a couple of schools are looking at him on offense. He plays a wing back type position for his high school, but some programs are projecting him as a full time back. "Most schools want me as a linebacker, but some schools are looking at me at running back or full back as well," said Halverson. "I don't care which position I play." Halverson is working hard to earn more offers and talked about the pressure of having to perform in front of coaches at team camps. "At first your eyes get big, but once things get going you just play," said Halverson. "My team is going to Oregon State's team camp. I might head to Boise State and Cal wants me to come to their camp as well." Jake Worthen is a West Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. Follow him on Twitter | Contact him at E-Mail | .
