Marshall Heating Up
6-foot, 197 pound Jalin Marshall is one of the best young running quarterbacks in Ohio. Even though the Middletown (OH) QB is only a sophomore, he already holds two offers from Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Pittsburgh: "They offered me early showing that they're interested. I like the coaching staff and the atmosphere there. I like the location, how it's close to home but not too close." Cincinnati: "I've been there a couple times and really like the coaching staff. The staff connects with the players and build relationships with the recruits. However, it might be a little too close to home." The sophomore has also been hearing a lot from Ohio State, Florida and Notre Dame. While some schools are recruiting him to play running back or wide receiver, Marshall admits he likes playing quarterback the most. "I make plays well and can see the field. This gives me a better opportunity since I can see things before they happen." During this off-season, the quarterback his been working on keeping his composure, staying in the pocket and improving his arm strength. Marshall isn't sure about his summer plans yet, as he's been busy on his school's track team. The 2013 quarterback still has time before he needs to commits, and plans on doing it. "I probably won't commit until before my senior year." And when it is time to commit, Marshall will be looking at the school's academics and the proximity to home. While he would like to stay closer to home, he said he'll go farther away, "If I have to."
