The team featured several talented players last year including BCS signees Jarvis Landry (LSU), Odell Beckham (LSU), Ameer Abdullah (Nebraska)
and Cortez Davis (Clemson). This year's team is loaded with talented on both sides of the ball led by Jeremy Liggins, four-star quarterback from
Oxford-Lafayette, Miss., and Landon Collins, five-star safety from Geismar-Dutchtown, La.
Liggins is a new addition to the team. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect has several scholarship offers including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss,
Mississippi State and Tennessee. The team also features Dshaie Landor, quarterback from Lafayette-Teurlings Catholic, La. Landor has a lot of schools
showing interest and looking for his first scholarship offer.
The running back position is led by Daniel Taylor, three-star from Lutcher, La. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound prospect has several offers including
Pittsburgh, Auburn, SMU, Tennessee and Tulsa. Tyree Bracken, running back from White Castle, La., has an offer from Memphis. He is receiving a lot of
interest from Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech.
The wide receiver position is stacked led by LSU commitment Travin Dural, three-star from Breaux Bridge, La., and Tulane commitment
Devon Breaux, three-star from Donaldsonville, La. Jaydrick Declouet, three-star from Patterson, La., has several offers including Houston, Louisiana Tech,
Memphis, North Texas, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, Tulane, UCF and Vanderbilt. A couple of other receivers on the team include speedster Dorien Semien, from Lutcher,
La., and 2013 receiver Deondre Skinner from Patterson, La.
The 'La Bottom Boys' have only one linebacker on the roster, LSU commitment Lamar Louis, three-star outside linebacker from Lafayette-Teurlings Catholic,
La. The team will likely use a few of the defensive backs at the linebacker position throughout the tournament.
The defensive backfield is led by Landon Collins. He was not available to play in the regionals at Samford University in Homewood, Ala., but will participate
in the national championship tournament. Collins won't announce his decision until the Under Armour All-America game. LSU commitment Dwayne Thomas, three-star
cornerback from New Orleans-O. Perry Walker, La., is another standout player in the secondary.
Jordan Batiste, cornerback from Lutcher, La., has offers from Memphis, Mississippi State, North Texas, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss and Tulane. Trevon Stewart,
cornerback from Patterson, La., has offers from Memphis, Southern Miss, Tulane and Louisiana Tech. Nigel Roberson, cornerback from Thibodaux, La., and Chris Morgan, cornerback from Baton Rouge-Catholic, La., are among the players. Morgan has an offer from Memphis. A couple of 2013 prospects include Jay Washington,
safety from Covington-St. Paul's, La., and Nick Washington, safety from Jacksonville-Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.. Nick Washington has offer from South Carolina.
A player who will play all over the field is Darion Monroe, three-star cornerback from Reserve-East St. John, La. Monroe accounted for 43 touchdowns
in 2010 and expected to play on both sides of the ball in the tournament. He is committed to Texas A&M.
Coach Jimmy Smith is anxious to showcase the 'La Bottom Boys' in the Lone Star State next month.
