Malvern Prep lineman Michael Mooney has narrowed down his options, and is now entering the home…
Virginia Offers Mooney
Michael Mooney, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive guard from Malvern Preparatory School has one more ACC school to choose from and it sounds like he'll be doing just that very soon. "I'm on my way home from Virginia right now with my mother and I picked up an offer from them," Mooney stated. "It went great down here and I loved it. They gave me a tour of the entire campus and it was great. The academics down there are outstanding and it was a great trip." "I got to spend an hour and a half with Head Coach Mike London and he told me about their mission and values for Virginia Football and how they want to turn the program around," Mooney added. "Academics are definitely stressed which was something that came through from talking to him. You can tell he's a good family guy and has great relationships with his players and cares about them. He's definitely a coach that I could see myself playing for in college." We asked Mooney what the plan was going forward with all of his offers. "This weekend, I'm visiting Northwestern and the weekend after that I'm visiting Duke and while I'm not counting anything out that comes in after that, I'm going to make a decision by the football season for sure." As a junior, Mooney was named first-team All-Inter-Ac on the offensive line. He was also first-team All-Main Line and All-City.
