McWilson, also a sprinter in track, has the size, speed, and now varsity experience schools look for. While he does not have any scholarship offers, he has been contacted by many of the nation's top programs.
"I've heard from schools from all over and there have been a few to come in to the school," McWilson said. "Ohio State, LSU, West Virginia. Michigan State, Michigan Wolverines, UCLA, and there have been some others during class, Buffalo."
So far, that has been it for the recruiting process though. McWilson has not been on any unofficial visits, and he has not planned out any camps yet, but wants to get those scheduled with his mother soon.
Even though his recruitment is in infancy, it is a good bet that sometime in the near future, McWilson will be a highly recruited player. When that does happen, he believes he could be looked at on either side of the ball, but he does have a preference.
"I'd like to be possibly recruited for safety, but I also play receiver. I've had schools talk to me about both positions."
