"I just went to the camp and worked hard and they told me they wanted to offer me as an offensive lineman when it was over," said Roscoe Byrd. "They did not tell me if they wanted me as a tackle or guard, but just an offensive lineman."
This was the first offer for Byrd and although he does not know a lot about the UAB program yet, he is excited about it.
"That first offer is always going to stick with you, so it was a good moment for me. I want to get over and visit UAB this fall now so I can learn more about them. I liked their coaches at the camp, I learned a lot there, and I think they made my game better."
The 6-foot-3, 311 pound offensive lineman out of Albany, Ga. is also drawing attention from Georgia, North Carolina A&T, and Tennessee State at this time.
He will be at Georgia's camp on Saturday and he is set to attend the camp at Florida State on June 18.
