Fite Hoping to Play Both at Next Level
Canton McKinley (OH) rising senior Chad Fite is looking for that unique opportunity to not only play 1 collegiate sport, but two. Fite plays both outside linebacker on the football field and leftfielder on the baseball diamond. On the football side, Fite has been talking with Bowling Green, Illinois and Albany while on the baseball side he's been in touch with Indiana State and Kent State for baseball. As for his summer plans, initially he planned on attending some football camps this weekend, but the rising senior knows that academics come first. "I planned on attending Pittsburgh's camp and Ohio State but I have to take the ACT on Saturday." And for the rest of the summer, he has o balance both football and baseball obligations. "I'm trying out for the USA Baseball team at the beginning of August. Then I'll be getting ready for the season and the state title run." If forced to choose, Fite isn't sure which sport he would play, but still makes it clear that ideally he would play both. "I would love to be a dual sport athlete in college."
