Houchins Heading to the Big East
5-foot-11, 180 pound cornerback Kevin Houchins had already lined up 8 offers and had his summer camp schedule mapped out. But on Monday morning, he felt like there was no need to waste anymore time and made his decision final by committing to the Cardinals. "I just committed to Louisville," the senior said Monday afternoon. The cornerback had planned on visiting other camps and seeing what other offers he could gain, but he felt like in the end, it wouldn't have mattered. "Even if I got other offers, I was probably going to choose Louisville anyways. So, I just sat down and discussed it with my family and felt like it was the school for me." Houchins picked the Cardinals over Akron, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Oh), Ohio and Toledo. "I called the coaches this morning. They said they were really excited about getting me in the program. They have a lot of things in store. They were just really happy and congratulated me." Now that the senior doesn't have to worry about making his decision during the year, his next task is convincing others to join him in Louisville. "I'm definitely trying to recruit some other players that I know from other schools to come with me."
