Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell received bad news Tuesday evening when he learned five-star offensive tackle Kyle Kalis was de-committing from the Buckeyes. Earlier today, Kalis announced he would visit Michigan this weekend, fueling speculation of his concern with the Ohio State commitment. Scout.com has the story.

Five-star offensive tackle Kyle Kalis has officially de-committed from Ohio State, the Lakewood St. Edward star announced Tuesday evening.

"I did speak to Luke Fickell minutes ago, and I told him I was de-committing from Ohio State," Kalis announced. "I want to keep all my options open, and will consider several programs going forward, including Ohio State. That's really all I want to say about my recruitment at this time."

A planned visit to Michigan is still on for this coming weekend, Kalis confirmed.

Kalis, 6-foot-5, 305-pounds, originally planned to de-commit from Ohio State on Memorial Day, shortly after the resignation of former Buckeye head coach Jim Tressel.

At the time, Fickell was able to talk Kalis out of that decision and he reaffirmed his commitment to the Buckeyes.

Scout.com will continue to update the Kalis situation as circumstances warrant.
