Rocklin (Calif.) Whitney four-star tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick had offers from all over the country.
But there was one offer he was looking for, an offer from USC.
So Cope-Fitzpatrick when to Rising Stars at USC, and on Thursday, he got the news from the USC coaches that he was hoping for. Then they got the news they had hoped for.
"USC offered me and I committed on the spot," said Cope-Fitzpatrick. "Coach Kiffin offered and I committed to him. I'm very excited."
Cope-Fitzpatrick said it was all a blur.
"It's so surreal," said Cope-Fitzpatrick. "They offered me as a tight end."
The fourth-ranked tight end nationally said he's glad to get the decision out of the way.
"I'm really relieved," said Cope-Fitzpatrick.
Cope-Fitzpatrick joins his Whitney teammate Jake Rodrigues, in committing to the Pac-12. Rodrigues committed to Oregon. This fall, they'll team up as the top pass-catch combo in the West.
